People need to mind their own business….
So I’m having lunch with some co-workers today and in our conversation the guy I’m dating was brought up. He and I have been casually dating for about two years and are not in a serious relationship, but he and I are both cool and happy with what we have and share. So why does my co-worker feel the need to tell me that it’s time I “re-evaluate” my relationship with this guy if he’s still not my “boyfriend”? And this is not the first time I’ve gotten comments like this…I hear this quite a bit from different people. Not that I need to explain this to anyone...but he’s not my “boyfriend” because HE AND I both are HAPPY with what we share and are in no rush to make it more. Someday, of course, I’d like to have something more serious, but when the time is right and when we both decide that’s what WE want….so people need to get off my back!
I am so tired of having to defend a “relationship” that I truly enjoy. If I’m happy then what the hell?!...leave me alone. Now, it’d be a different story if I was crying everyday because I’m miserable, but that’s not the case....as I’ve already mentioned a few times….I’M HAPPY!!...and more importantly, HE makes me happy. He’s an amazing guy and treats me better than I’ve ever been treated and he’s someone I’ll keep in my life forever no matter what happens because he’s that great.
I just don’t get it…..why can’t people just mind their own business??
